Lompong sago cake is a native food of Minangkabau people in western Sumatra. They made of palm starch mixed with coconut milk, grated coconut, banana and palm sugar. Wrapped in banana leaf and then burnt using a coal from coconut shell is the method to cook them.

In the past lompong sago was very popular cake. Even they inducted into a song with the same title. The song was also famous. Due to the changing tastes of the younger generation, now they are hard to find in the market.
